Greetings from Knight Foundation! We are writing to make sure that you are aware of a funding opportunity through the Google News Initiative Innovation Challenge in North America. The application deadline is right around the corner: the challenge closes on July 15, 2019.

This is an opportunity to receive up to $300,000 in support for a project that helps build a more sustainable ecosystem for local news by generating revenue and/or increasing audience engagement for local news.

Still want to know more? On Thursday, July 11, at 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET, we will host a webinar with folks from Google for you to ask questions and learn more about the Innovation Challenge.

The directions to join Thursday’s webinar are below. You’ll find out how to apply, when you’ll be notified, who the judges are, the types of projects that will be considered, and have your questions answered.
