Dylan Sanchez joins LION Publishers as our Data Systems Associate
As our Data Systems Associate, Dylan Sanchez will focus on supporting LION operations, research, and insights reporting.
With the launch of three GNI Startups Labs programs, the Independent News Sustainability Summit, the Sustainability Audit and Funding program, and the News Entrepreneur Academy, LION’s work and impact are growing – and so are the needs of our team.
As we work to manage and support this mission-driven growth, we are thrilled to welcome Dylan Sanchez to our team as LION’s data systems associate, a role that will be focused on supporting daily operations within LION and maintaining and improving LION databases. Dylan’s work will include:
- Working closely with colleagues across programming, finance and operations to optimize the systems that help LION achieve its strategic goals.
- Enabling LION staff to efficiently gather and share insights from our membership and program data by maintaining LION’s internal datasets.
- Managing the Project Oasis database to share insights about the wider industry.
Dylan joins LION after working as a Public Health Advisor with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where he provided technical and programmatic assistance to the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District. Prior to that he supported global diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives at Gilead Sciences.
Additionally, Dylan brings experience in curriculum development, delivery, and capacity-building from his Peace Corps service in Namibia as a Primary Education Teacher where he taught English and Media Literacy classes.
Dylan is originally from Huntington Beach, California. He is currently based in San Antonio, Texas.
