Let Google fly you to Chicago for workshops about monetizing local news

UPDATE: Google has extended the deadline for registration through Friday, Oct. 11 — so if you’re interested, there’s still time to register.

Google is inviting LION Publishers members to its first Google News Initiative local event in Chicago this December. The platform is offering to cover travel for up to two people per organization, for those that need the help. It’s a mini-conference at Google’s local headquarters, and the topics include both monetization and editorial solutions in a hands-on workshop setting.

They’re accepting applications through September 24 on a first-come, first-served basis; the full invitation is below.

Please register by Tuesday, September 24th to secure a spot. Due to capacity constraints, each company can bring a total of 2 people (we ask that each individual guest fills out the below registration form to secure a spot).

Breakfast will begin at 8:00 AM, followed by main sessions and a product fair.
