Membership Education
Where the Sustainability Audit program gives publishers recommendations on what to do next, our Membership Education program provides structured sharing of knowledge and expertise to propel them on the path to sustainability.
We kicked off the year by continuing our Booster Coaching program, a supplementary check-in for publishers who had gone through an Audit, complete with a progress report and coaching. Eighty-one of the 96 eligible organizations signed up, and 93 percent of those who completed the evaluation said the coaching sessions were valuable.
The Booster Coaching program laid the foundation for the Expert Network, a new product that allows all members to book discounted coaching and consulting hours on an as-needed basis. Thirty-one vetted experts, with expertise grounded in our three pillars of sustainability, are currently in the searchable database in LION’s member portal.
We launched our Sustainability 360 pilot with six participants. This program is dedicated to helping 100 LION members reach the “Growing” stage of our independent news maturity model within the next five years, a significant cornerstone of our strategic plan.
