Jason Velázquez entered mainstream journalism as a general assignment reporter at a mid-sized daily in Y2K. The moment download speeds allowed for pushing audio files around the Internet, sometime during the Cretaceous period, he tried his voice at podcasting with a local Indie music podcast called The Mongrel’s Howl. After moving to the Berkshires of Massachusetts in 2015, Jason mistakenly created a local news podcast network after friends urged him to do something to address the loss of the area’s only daily and weekly newspapers. They meant he should create a news organization based on the pulp from dead trees. Oh, well, too late now! The Greylock Glass covers community news, business, arts, food, and politics, with over 50,000 hours of content downloaded since its inception.
